Oak Processionary Moth

We have been informed by the Golf Club that they have discovered Oak Processionary Moth Caterpillars on a number of their oak trees; the Residents’ Association also reviewed a number of oak trees along the road side and discovered one case so far.

This was reported to the Forestry Commission, as it’s current legislation that any findings of this caterpillar should be reported to the Forestry Commission.

We would urge you to review any oak trees you may have in your garden and report any sightings to the Forestry Commission directly.

If you come across the caterpillars or their webbed nests please do not touch them. Keep children and pets away as contact can cause itching and skin rashes.

Find further information on Oak Processionary Moth from the Forestry Commission’s Website.
