Some suggestions for inclusion in any objection are:
- I object to any planning approval which would increase emissions in the light of the impact on climate change, the Council’s stated Climate Emergency and long-term efforts to improve sustainability
- I understand from the Surrey Waste Plan that waste related development in the Green Belt is considered inappropriate except in special circumstances. As I consider that there are no compelling special circumstances, I trust that the Council will reject the application in line with its stated Plan
- This proposal does not accord with the provisions of the development plan in force in the area
- This proposal will turn a small, discreet pet cemetary into a major commercial operation within Greenbelt land
- It will create a catalyst for Intensification of industrial use in Green Belt
- There will be Increased pollution through the erection of 5 x 12m+ chimneys emitting unpleasant smoke and odour
- There will be Increased traffic on an already congested minor road

Dear Mr Jenkins,
I/we write concerning the proposed development at Silvermere Haven Pet Cemetery, Surrey KT11 1DZ (Ref. SCC ref 2019/0125 – EL/2019/2722).
I/we wish to record our objection to the proposed development on land clearly designated as green belt which is on a scale that can only be described as industrial.
5 incinerator chambers, 2 capable of handling equine carcasses, all with 12.5m high chimneys. Supporting plant and service areas for handling both toxic and non toxic waste and car parking for 20 cars. ThIs is a very different proposition to the existing pet cemetery operation and one that can only have a detrimental impact on air quality. From increased volumes of waste being burnt and the additional traffic bringing animal carcasses and waste material to the site, as CVS (uk) Limited seek to increase revenues to pay for the proposed development.
The site is bordered by residential properties, private gardens, woodland, a golf course and flanks the southern edge of St. George’s Hill, incorporating a scheduled monument. It is a haven for residents, our families, pets and wildlife including badgers, bats, deer, and birds of prey. An industrial scale crematorium operation would have a detrimental impact.
The planning authority have refused permission for residential properties on land owned by the Silvermere Haven Pet Cemetery on 7 previous occasions. One assumes because the land is clearly designated as green belt.
The planning authority also refused permission for the Redhill Rd waste incinerator. (Previously proposed a number of years ago.) No doubt they agreed with local residents that allowing such a development would impact both on air quality and increase vehicle movements along the Byfleet Rd.
It would be difficult to understand planning permission being granted for what amounts to an industrial facility on green belt. It is even harder to justify as the proposed development does not accord with the provisions of the councils stated local development plan.
We trust this planning application will be refused.
Yours Sincerely,
