Security – update November 28th

Dear Residents

As we approach the holiday season, we have again reviewed the current estate wide security response based upon internal and external risk factors. As a result, we are introducing a security dog patrol provided by Knight Security Group in the most vulnerable areas of the estate and during the most vulnerable times. The dog patrol will be supported by our normal mobile and gate patrol officers under strict control measures, and will be readily identifiable.

I would also take this opportunity to remind you again about the need to be extra vigilant and ensure you check the security of your home and possessions. Burglaries can and will happen but you can take measures now to reduce the risk of becoming a statistic.

  • Make regular checks of your boundary, looking for any obvious damage to fencing or planting where access could be gained.
  • Keep an eye out for any unknown or unusual items being left by windows or doors that could be left as a marker for gangs to identify properties not regularly occupied. Don’t just assume it was left by your gardener or a member of staff.
  • Keep outdoor furniture secure and away from the main building (they have been used as climbing frames to balconies).
  • Ensure any Lighting, CCTV and alarm systems are regularly serviced and turned on when applicable.
  • Provide any keyholders with the SGH security gate numbers to alert them of any alarm activation’s so they can provide immediate support and surveillance.(Brooklands Gate 01932 830402, Old Avenue Gate 01932 830401)
  • Report any suspicious activity immediately to the SGH security team at the Brooklands or Old Avenue gates so the patrol can investigate, then call the police on 101 to report your concerns.
  • If you feel you or anyone else is in immediate danger then call 999

Please remember it is your responsibility to secure your individual property, the SGH security team are here to assist by providing regular surveillance and access control measures at the gates and throughout the Estate.
