Many residents will be aware of the planning application (reference EL2023/0344) to Surrey County Council to expand the Silvermere Pet Crematorium on Byfleet Road to an industrial scale facility. The plan is to create a regional hub for the incineration of dead pets, horse carcasses and veterinary waste. Although a number of objections were raised to the application, the Council Planning Officers are recommending its approval (with conditions). Further details are in the report below:

The application is due to be considered at the next Surrey County Council Planning and Regulatory Committee on 28th February 2024 at 10.30am at the Council Chamber, Woodhatch Place, 11 Cockshot Hill, Reigate, Surrey, RH2 8EF.
