A resident has raised a concern about estate agents’ Instagram posts featuring the Estate and the potential risks this may pose for security and privacy.
We would recommend that residents check the “digital footprint” of their house by typing their house name and road name into a search engine, in order to check the representation of their property and request any unwanted coverage or representation is removed.
In addition to online sales brochures containing detailed floor plans and photographs, we are aware that several properties currently have internal video tours available on You Tube. This is something which a resident may wish to request the estate agent removes.
Also, please consider contractors, including interior designers, garden designers and security companies, who post images and information about developments and projects on their own social media accounts for marketing purposes. Again, we would recommend this is discouraged.
