Dear Resident,
Our recent tree works in Warreners Lane and East Road saw the removal of dead wood and oak processionary moth nests from a number of trees, as well as the removal of a large Oak tree on Warreners Lane due to concerns over the structural integrity of the trunk.
Please see a photo of the Oak tree below, which shows that our concern was very much justified.
We would now like to inform you of our next phase of works. These works will be carried out along Chestnut Avenue and will consist of selected remedial works on each Horse Chestnut.
These are large, mature trees and some have a number of defects. The work is being carried out to try to help prolong their lives and to try to ensure they stay safe.
Works will be starting on Thursday 10th August and will be completed on Monday 14th August.
Please take care when passing through Chestnut Avenue or use an alternative route.
