Dear Resident
We have recently received several reports from residents who have highlighted concerns regarding foxes and their behaviour on the estate.
As we have now started to get some lovely summer weather, and the BBQs are out, foxes will be attracted to the smells as they have a strong sense of smell.
To deter foxes, there are a number of preventative measures you can adhere to:
- Remove any potential food sources by putting food bins out on the day of collection; making sure the bin lids are securely shut.
- Place any bird feeders out of reach and cover any leftover pet food accordingly.
- Foxes are attracted to gardens as they provide a safe place for them to rest / hide. Ensure your property is secure so there are no easy access points.
- Use safe, appropriate non-toxic chemical animal repellents containing, for example, aluminium ammonium sulphate to discourage the animal e.g., Scoot.
- Use a battery-operated fox Repeller, which emits a high-frequency noise that foxes can hear to deter them from entering the immediate area. Such products are available online.
