IMPORTANT INFORMATION – URGENT ACTION REQUIRED
Deadline 18th September 2020 !
Dear Resident, we are writing to you again concerning the proposed crematorium development at Silvermere Haven pet Cemetery Surrey KT11 1DZ.
Planning reference SCC 2019/0125/DHB/EL/ 2019/2722
It is important you act now if you wish to avoid a significant increase in local pollution and increased heavy traffic which has the potential to affect every resident on St Georges Hill.
Silvermere Haven pet cemetery has submitted an amended planning application to substantially scale up cremations on its’ site, which is on green belt land. As you will see below, the revised proposal does little to reduce the impact on air quality from the burning of toxic and non toxic waste and from increased vehicle movements to and from the site. The amended application now proposes a complex incorporating three 12.5m high chimneys and an increase in processing throughput.
It would include: – An equine cremator – A four chamber cremator – An eight chamber cremator – Potential to operate the site from 6am to 10pm six days per week – Parking for 27 cars – A 715 sqm service yard – Removal of existing buildings, replaced with landscaping
There was strong opposition to the original planning application from local residents, the same residents who also came out in force when a waste incinerator was proposed on Redhill Rd some years ago. Let’s make sure our voice is heard, to protect our environment and the resale value of properties in the area. You may have written previously to object or this could be the first you’ve heard about the proposal. Either way, if you are concerned it is important that you do object.
Objections need to be received by SCC before the 18th September 2020.
